Sometimes you and I can miss motivation but it’s not a reason for doing nothing.
You see not every human being is motivated all the time or have a successful mindset everyday. The difference from the amateur and the pros is that the pros do the job even if it doesn’t feel fancy. Cause everything in life at some point doesn’t feel fancy. For instance, waking up at 4am to write and read, can be fancy few days but might be not all year long.
It will be great if we can be motivated every day of course. But don’t worry, it never happens. The guys who tell you that they are always good and always motivated are just liars. I don’t believe them and you should not either.
By all the time trying to be effective and efficient at some point I lose motivation myself. But I’m not worried, that’s life. It’s just normal. And fortunately I have strategy when these times come.
So here I will give you a way that I use to achieve something even with no motivation. Plus in a short period of time.
Set a goal
-Know you are capable of doing it
The job has to be not too huge to be feasible in a short period of time and it still has to bring value. It needs to be part of what you are trying to achieve for your work, company or in your personal life.
I will suggest to take something that you procrastinate everyday. Take it, cause if you do this one with no motivation after finishing this task you will boost your motivation by being happy to have done it.
-It has to be feasible in a short period of time
If the goal is too big, cut it in small chunks and take one chunk after the other. Especially when you have no motivation, take something on your to do list which not last too long.
Sorry but don’t think that it has to be the most productive day as well. You listen to yourself by giving just an enough task to complete that you can do and achieve in the day, a morning or an afternoon.
It’s also not something that it has to take a week to complete, if so just cut it, then focus.
Focus on the task
The job has to be the only thing you do during this period of time. Until it’s not finish focus just on this task. No distraction, no phone, no talk, nothing. Focus on the task and nothing else. Don’t take something aside, or browse anything else on your computer. This might be the most important advice of all.
Stress can kill effectiveness. There is no stress needed here. Come on you have already no motivation so it’s not the time to add stress as well. Or maybe you can put a little amount of it before you set the goal to get to it. Actually, It can be good to have a bit of good stress before starting the task or just when finishing it. The only thing is this stress time hasn’t to take too long.
Afterward you don’t need stress if you are doing the job and focus on the task then you can do and relax. Because stress won’t help and can defocus you from your mission.
Just do your task naturally without stressing out.
If you follow this strategy which seems really easy, you will get the job done. This is exactly the strategy that I use right now to do this article.
It can take not too much time to actually get the job done. Depends if you cut it in small chunk or you took something that it’s feasible in a day.
You see, the problem is not the action or the act of doing the task. The problem is often the motion before and between the action which can disturb the process of getting the task done.
If you focus then you can achieve even with no motivation.
